3 Months and The Best Daddy A Mommy Could Ask For

Boy, am I grateful for this guy.

Alpine slide in Golden CO.

I never had a doubt that he would be such a great dad but now that he's in the thick of it he amazes me every day.
Check out those baby holding skills! He is a natural.

I am usually not one to brag and boast on social media about how awesome my husband is, but i've just been thinking about how grateful I am for him and I wanted it to be forever written on our blog. So, seriously, this guy! Not only has he changed diapers from day one, he now regularly changes cloth diapers (not an easy task)! He also gets up to help me at night still - even though I have a system down. He relieves me when I need a break. He has supported and encouraged me through the ups and downs of our breastfeeding journey. He works so hard for our little family which gives me the opportunity to stay home with the twins. He loves us and is so supportive! He makes me want to be a better mother and a better person.

I honestly couldn't do it without him. So glad I get to do this whole parenting shindig with him.

Ok, now on to the baby pictures. THREE MONTH photoshoot! This month went a lot more smoothly as they didn't cry as much and they actually looked at the camera sometimes.

Their first Halloween was so fun! Noah and Elleanna were dressed as owls. THANK YOU Grandma Sandell for the owl hats... the perfect inspiration for their costumes! I made them the rest of their outfit to match. Cameron and I also got in on the halloween action and we were the trees (wearing brown pants and a green shirt). We love being festive!

2 months and on being a Mom of Multiples

So many people have asked me...how do you do it? Every time and I tell it to them straight - I don't know any different and I take it one day at a time. I know that if we had older children too it would make it 100 times more difficult, so I'm grateful to have this experience first. It takes so much time to care for these little ones. The hardest part, hands down, has been our breastfeeding journey but I am not about to give up now, when I've worked so hard.

Being a mother is really the hardest and the most rewarding thing I could ever do. Its funny... maybe its because I'm stubborn or prideful but its just just one of those things that you can read or be told a million million times but you don't really fully understand it until you live it. I am so grateful to be able to have this experience to be a mother and grow in ways I never thought possible.

Ok, enough of the mushy stuff for now - here are a few pictures!

1 Month

Here are some pictures from 0-1 month of their life. I took some and we had a photographer take their 12 day old ones.

The first month was the biggest blur for me so far! It was really just total survival mode at that point. We were all getting used to breastfeeding and lack of sleep. Plus, we had a lot of visitors (which we loved, of course). It was a lot of adjusting and just getting in our groove. I'm so glad we took the time to take pictures so I can remember how they used to be so small.

On the day you were born - Noah and Elleanna

Since its been a while since I've blogged, I wanted to do a little bit of catch up.

Being pregnant with twins was amazing but super uncomfortable (to say the least). It still amazes me looking back at pictures that I really was that big. No wonder strangers looked at me they way they did! I was massive! All in all, I was really lucky though. No real complications or issues the whole pregnancy.

Right before checking in at the hospital for the c-section.

Checking in! In a few short hours we would meet our babies.

Because Elleanna was breach and my Doc wouldn't deliver her that way, we had a scheduled c-section at exactly 37 weeks. Everything was surreal that day - We couldn't believe that we would be meeting these two babies that we had longed for for so long. The c-section went along without a hitch. After they administered the spinal, it was the most comfortable I had felt in MONTHS! I was enjoying being pain free for about 10 minutes when our whole world changed.

Noah Redford and Elleanna Therese were born two minutes apart! The best sound in the world was hearing their little cries as my doctor pulled them out.

Holding both together for the first time.

They were both big for being twins and only 37 weeks. Noah was 7.10 and Elleanna was 6.11. I can't imagine how big they (or I) would have been if I went any longer. They were perfect with no NICU time. After they were checked out and given baths, they stayed with us in our room the rest of our stay.

Looking back at our hospital experience it doesn't seem like we were there for 4 days. It was all a wonderful, happy, joyful blur. We were so happy to be able to go home and start life as a new family of 4.

I still can't believe that they are ours! We are so lucky to be able to be their parents.

Three more months?!

I have promised Cameron that I will start blogging again. It seems like a good way to keep everyone in the loop and also to journal the events of our family.

So here we go...

I  cannot believe we have only (max) 14 weeks left until we meet these little babes! It seems like just a few weeks ago that we found out about being pregnant and that they were twins! I already feel huge - this belly is a weapon. I think it was only 3 weeks ago where I could feel them kicking me around my belly button and now they are kicking me in the ribs! The human body is an amazing thing.

23.4 weeks!

We've been preparing as much as we can at this point. We've painted the nursery, have all the nursery furniture set up, {i've} bought some cute clothes (not nearly enough yet!), toured two hospitals and made baby name lists. I think we're still far from being "ready" but it feels good to check some things off the list. I can't wait to do the final touches on the nursery and to organize the closet. I think the nesting is really starting to kick in.

Woah, the colors look kinda weird in this pic... but the walls are a light mint and the dots are coral (girl) and royal blue (boy).

We also went on an impromptu 'Baby Moon' to the Great Sand Dunes National Park this last weekend. It was fun to waddle through the sand (actually, not so much). I slowly made it up two little hills and my body was done. So Cameron had fun rolling down the hill and getting sand in every nook and cranny. I think he's still finding sand from that fun adventure! Check out the video (sorry about the loud wind).

It was quite windy. I was grateful to have a hoodie to cover my ears.

I hope I can keep up with the blogging once the babies make their arrival. I know I wont have much time so you might only get updates sporadically.

Making our house a Home!

We have been in our new house for almost two months and have been busy doing projects to make our little house a home.
Completely blank
...with kitchen table, new pendant lights, new paint and a few accessories...
...and now its complete with flowers and a stencil above the cabinets!!! We love it!

The blank canvas....
...is now much cozier!  It is not quite complete, though, as we will be adding more decor, including a piano and bookshelf, very soon.
We love our home and we love Castle Rock. If anyone would like to come visit, we have plenty of room and would love to have you.
